Types of Object Framing
Generally, there are two types of 3D object framing. They are shadow box framing, and acrylic box framing.
Shadow box framing is more like the sort of framing associated with two-dimensional objects such as photographs or paintings. The difference is that the frames have deep sides to accommodate the item or items within. These frames often include elevated matting or fabric liners to greater protect and display the item(s). They are designed to be viewed from the front only.
Acrylic box framing is a technique more suitable for deeper objects such as footballs (see example in our gallery). It allows objects to be displayed and viewed from more than one direction. It is particularly suitable for items that may be placed on public display, such as in a hotel/bar/restaurant, a clubhouse, or a museum.
