Our New Printer
Fine Framers just added a new state of the Art wide carriage printer. It is capable of printing on Canvas , Paper and Fine Art Printing, up to 44″ wide . We used Epson Wide carriage printers for over the past 10 years and have had great service from them. When we started out with large format printing, we chose a 24″ wide printer. However we soon realised that our customers also wanted to print larger. Soon afterwards we added a similar 44″ printer to the collection.
Our Old Reliables
This pair of printers , which have the same print engine utilizing 7 inks, gave us great service over the past decade. During this time we learned a lot more about printing, inks , papers and reproducing colour correctly. We managed to get decent results with this set up but also knew that the time has been fast approaching for an upgrade to the latest available printing technology. Our biggest challenge was always the ability to reproduce the colours in an image correctly on a print out. These printers were also slow and on many occasions , to get some large jobs done , we had to run the printers overnight.
A Big Leap Forward
Looking at what is on the market , we are very happy to return to Epson’s latest printer. So we installed a new state of the art Epson Sure Colour P9000. It has 11 inks , giving a very wide Colour Gamut capability. This professional Printer produces high quality, accurate and long lasting photographs on a variety of media. Now we can print true colours of over 99% of the colour spectrum. So for the first time , we are be able to Print Fine Art Quality Giclee Prints on specialized papers for Arists.

Calbrating Our New BenQ High Resolution Monitor
We also installed a large BenQ monitor which also has high colour viewing capability. The complete work flow from the monitor to the printer to our paper range is fully calibrated. It is custom profiled so that we now get true colour reproduction.
We are very happy with the results so far and its interesting to see the same image now printed from the new v the old printer. The new printer output gives incredible detail and colour depth.

We experimented with a high quality scene of the Taj Mahal and below show a close up of a small section of the print from the old printers v the new Printer . There is so much more detail now visible , as before there was a lot of colour and detail blocked out. Now the image is truly vibrant.
